Arcad-A

This single-family house is located in the mountains surrounded by a forest. Due to the slope of the land, the usable area was restricted. By locating the house on the higher part of the plot where it was flatter, it also allowed for interesting visuals and acess to sunlight coming from abovethe trees. The height at which the house is located puts people at the same level as the trees and through the terrace it allows a close connection with nature. The glass facades create a bright interrior and allow the house to be heated by solar irradiation. While the more solid facades create intimacy and more selective visuals. The house is raised off the ground in reponse to the difficulty and cost of levelling the land. Additionally, the gable roofs are a response to the heavy rainfall in the area.
