Arcad-A

The City of Hope of Andrimont is a reception center for people with mental illnesses and has made a call for project the redevelopment of the multipurpose space of the center which is aging and more adapted to new activities. It currently includes 3 rooms used as a refectory room, meeting room and activity space. The program required a warm and welcoming space that could be used for current activities and for welcoming and meeting families. Our response to the request was to define two main axes in the project.

A first longitudinal opening totally the space to make it as flexible as possible. The modulation of the space is done with the help of furniture pivoting around the columns, as well as with the help of movable partitions allowing to redivise the space in three zones of which two can be completely closed, to accommodate on the one hand the space of the self and on the other hand a meeting room requiring more privacy.

The second axis of the project is a transversal axis marked by the creation of two new entrances and the opening of the rear facade to make the space cross and bring more light and views to the outside. It has also been proposed a more contemporary and modular furniture to revive this space in loss.
