Hyde park was the subject of much experiments in the design of pavilions. The site is an opportunity to explore a new design of the library.
The monolithic volume of the library, wants to be closed to the city and these activities to highlight the calm of the site. The library of the future is a space open to everyone, the shelves would occupy only a small place to enjoy the landscape. It would then be conceived along the water as a place related to nature. The horizontality of the library evokes the calm of the water and silence, a moment of withdrawal conducive to a peaceful reading. Opening onto the lake, she invites the reader to enter. He then finds himself immersed in an atmosphere
peaceful in the middle of nature. The colonnade with its particular rhythm invites the passerby to slow down his speed to take the time to look at the landscape.
The volume offers distinct atmospheres. Fine openings on its closed side offer a diffuse and indirect light that highlights the streaks of the concrete. Diffuse light conducive to concentration forms individual spaces. The volume offers spaces where people can meet to share their reading. The stage offers a stage on the lake.
